How to Make the Boombox Rap AI Video
Updated Oct 31, 2026
The boombox rap trend shows two friends walking down a quiet brick street: one raps straight into the camera, the other walks behind with a silver boombox on the shoulder. The look comes from the 'Slide' music video by Connor Price and Nic D (released January 2026). In October 2026 it became a two-photo AI template. Here is how to make your own.
What you need
- Two photos, one person in each: photo 1 is the rapper in front, photo 2 is the friend with the boombox.
- Permission from your friend. Only use photos of adults who agreed.
- A TikTok, Reels or Shorts account to post the result.
Step 1: Pick the photos
Use waist-up or knees-up shots with a clear, well-lit face. No sunglasses and no hair over the eyes. The AI keeps faces, hair and clothes, so a hoodie or denim jacket fits the street look. Group photos confuse the model about who is who.
Step 2: Upload in the right order
Order decides the roles. Photo 1 walks in front and raps. Photo 2 walks behind and carries the boombox. Swap them if you want the other person to rap.
Step 3: Choose a style or add a short verse
On the create page you can pick a style (street, old-school, trap or pet) and optionally type a few lines. Keep it short: the clip is only about 10 to 15 seconds.
Step 4: Generate and download
The video is vertical 9:16. Download it to your phone.
Step 5: Post on TikTok with the sound
Add the trending audio inside TikTok instead of baking a copyrighted song into the file. Search the sound 'Slide' by Connor Price and Nic D in the TikTok sound library. Label the post as AI-generated using TikTok's AI-generated content setting.
Common mistakes
- Photos in the wrong order, so the wrong friend raps.
- Low light or side-on faces, which makes the face drift.
- Using a celebrity or a stranger. Don't. It breaks platform rules and the person's rights.
